This is an amazing table! I was nervous about assembly, but all you need to do is add the legs, the floor base and the wheels. I was able to do it by myself. The table lifts up and is fabulous to eat and do work from. The space within this table top is very spacious. There is no drawer, just a false drawer front, but it is not needed with all the space. There is also space on the floor base for anything you want. When you want it moved out of the way, it easily moves on its wheels. It is 37 inches across so fits between my sectional couch well. So glad I bought this; well worth the money!I love the design and the functionality. We have a small living room and I'm in a wheel chair so we have to keep this in front of the sofa so I can get around. I sit in a recliner. I like that it rolls easily on the casters to move when I'm eating. We do not have a dining table as our space is small. I was disappointed to see that there were chips out of the finish. The one side of the lift had stripped screws. I told hubby about the other reviews that said they used wood glue so that's how he fixed it. He tried a larger screw but it almost went through. Luckily, he was able to pound that out without hurting it. Amazon did work with us and gave us a discount to keep the table. Over all, I like it. The end tables we bought to match were fine.A GORGEOUS and [SOLID] Quality piece! Weight & Move-ability: my UPS driver was able to lift and carry this up a few stairs and into my house. He strained, but he did it (80+#'s). A tarp or old blanket on hand to fold this into to drag up your stairs or pull it into the house / room would work w/o worry of damaging the item inside. Packaging: It's extremely well packaged! Some superficial damage to the outside carton, but also somewhat expected due its size and weight, nothing deep, penetrating, or damaging. Inside package protection is !OUTSTANDING!, especially corners and edges; one would have to 'intentionally' try to damage this item in order to succeed. Assembly: pieces are heavy, yes, but I assembled myself using pillows to support the top while I set the legs, it did not require I physically lift anything outright, I slid / pulled the top over the pillows into place w little effort. The longest processes were unpacking (because I was careful) and the legs, because the HEX Key has a small area to turn, so it's incremental. Functionality: The mechanism is sturdy - VERY sturdy! I can raise the top to ANY level and it will stay there while I work, even rest my forearms w pressure, it stays put. Does not need to lock out to stay in position as I've read w other tables; when closing, the movement is slow and controlled, I'm not worried of it dropping suddenly to slam shut. It does have casters on the legs which I'll appreciated with a different carpet someday, it would make pushing the table back seamless; for me, right now, w a thicker carpet the table isn't moving, Table surface is deeper and wider other tables but a little shorter which I wanted. I've seen the longer more narrow versions and they do not compare to the QUALITY, sturdiness, and BEAUTY of this table! The wood matches the wood feet of my Ashley sofa perfectly. The top is very durable and resists the abuse I have (so far) put it through. I can see this table lasting for many years.I really like that the table comes with casters, which allow me to easily move/re-position the table as necessary. The top is nice and wide to fit a lot of stuff on top of it, but still small enough to allow me to move around it in my 8ft wide living room. I can fit my board and card games comfortably under the lift-top, in addition to the storage available on the lower shelf. Please take note of the height dimensions. Also important to note that even though it is a lift-top, it is not the kind at which one could eat a meal. Well, technically you could by simply shoveling the food from the plate into your mouth because that is how high the top is when extended. It is a lift-top for storage purposes.Other than that, the table was well-packaged and arrived undamaged. I assembled this table alone, bringing in one piece at a time from the porch where it was left because the box was heavy. I used the cardboard from the box as a mat to build the table. I mounted the shelf by stacking several books under it to hold it up. Build time was less than an hour. The included allen wrench was kind of a P.I.T.A. to use in the corners when attaching the legs, but it got the job done with minimal cursing. This an amazing little table that my mother needed, so can have meals at her sofa. It was very easy to install. The only issue was that when I turned the table after installation, I noticed it has a damaged corner. I am bot going to uninstall and return, I need to have a carpenter to fix it. I love the design and wood quality of this table with the amazing sale price. It is a great piece of furniture and goes well with other cherry furniture that mom has.On a recommendation from a friend and his wife, I purchased this as sitting on the floor, sotting twisting on the couch for remotes, laptop and beverages was killing body partsAssembly - took me about 30 minutes in total to piece this together. ALL pieces align, match and fit with great simplicity.Use - I use it now for a laptop, my remotes and my morning coffee. The lifting of the top is as simple as reaching over and lifting. With everything on it, no mess, no spill, no jerking or shaking just a firm sturdy sliding movement.A great addition to any loving area with little space. It looks nice but not a very beautiful piece. I think nicer legs would make a bigger difference. Nice for the price. Plenty of storage. Shelf also at the bottom.I am so pleased with my new coffee table. I needed a coffee table on the smallish side and this fits the bill perfectly. I love the lift top and the fact that you don’t have to have it fully raised for it to stay up. The coffee table is attractive,, practical and just what I wanted.
